So, since I never got around to doing this, I suppose I should finally put one of these posts up..

Credit goes to my lovely [info]x_missxmurder_x over at [info]schizo_icons_xo. ♥

I know this probably makes me sound like an elitist, but my flist is already ridiculously full of coms and people and stuff, so I'm somewhat selective of who I add. It's mostly RL friends, or people I met at communities who I've clicked with an actually frequently talk to. Comment if we've got some common interests and stuff, though, and I may just add you back.

I'm.. doing another friends cut. It's nothing personal. ilu all. I just cannot keep up with my flist right now, and it pains me but it's a fact. :[

There are people on here who I care about and who I'm clinging to for nostalgia's sake, but we don't talk anymore and we don't follow each other's lives, so, the past was awesome and I'll always remember you, etc., but it might be time to sort of sever ties :(

You have until, uh, October 1st to comment if you really, really wanna stay.

edit:
oh fml, i thought this post was public.

friends cut.

K, so I've been planning to do this for awhile, and.. I havent checked my flist in like a week. I'm terrified of how many posts I've probably missed, so. I think nows as good a time as any to do the friends cut I've been planning.

Please don't take offense if I cut you, it's nothing personal. I just.. don't typically read your posts, and as far as I know, you don't read mine either.

If I cut you and you really want me to add you back, just comment my friends only post - I'll probably add you back.

Sorry :( iluall.

Today is the anniversary of the death of Elizabeth Short, also known as the Black Dahlia. What real-life murder story are you most fascinated by?

THERE. ARE. SO. MANY.

To start; Christopher Byers, Stevie Branch, and Michael Moore. [Robinhood Hills murder/killing]

Only, I'm sad to say that the main reason their murder intruiges me isn't them or the murder itsself - but don't get me wrong, it's some fucking horrific shit - it's just that the 3 men (pretty much boys themselves at the time) who were charged with this murder.. God, I honestly don't believe they did it. And there are so so so many others who agree with me.

Another one that really gets under my skin is the JonBenét Ramsey case. And then, of course, there's (some of these are only murder-conspericies, i think - written off as suicides and such) Karissa Boudreau, JFK, Marilyn Monroe (sp?), Kurt Cobain, Rina Virk, Laci Peterson, 'the yogurt shop murders', and Lynne Harper. And so many others. The Black Dahlia case is rather interesting, too.

Really, I'm more interested in the killers than the stories, though. I love learning about serial killers/criminals. ^^; Béla Kiss, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dalmer, Jack the Ripper, Paul Bernardo&Karla Hamolka, Alan Legere, the BTK Killer, Lizzie Bordon, Erzsebet Bathory, ... they're so interesting. And then there's Collumbine (sp?), which I have a weird interest in.

I don't pretend to be an expert on these cases/killers, but I do find them so interesting.

What were you doing on September 11th, 2001? How do the events of that day hold meaning for you now?

Honest to God I feel like a terrible person everytime I'm asked this.

..

Okay.

I didn't even know.

I didn't know until the next day.
My parents didn't want me to know, or something.

I guess I was at school when it happened. Grade.. 6, I think? I dunno. 5, maybe. Yeah. Grade 5.

I remember going home and not understanding why every chanel was playing the news. I remember being pissed off that it was news and not the BET 106 and Park Countdown or w/e it was called.

I ended up watching YTV, because it was all I could find. I believe the show was "Stick Around".

The next day at school, the teacher discussed it with us, and I remember that Danielle and I were like "wtf? what? what happened? *LOST*" and then we got Jessica to explain it to us when we got home. Actually, I don't remember if it was Danielle or Christianna, but I think it was Danielle. So Jess drew us a diagram. I think it was in blue marker, but I can't remember for sure.

Yeah, that's all I really remember.

Oh, and I dunno when. Maybe on the 12th or 13th, my mum and aunt stood in line at the Red Cross for hours, but the lines were so long and they never actually got to give blood to help out. That's how many people turned up to donate blood.

Now, every September 11th I just.. I don't even know. It depresses me when I actually give the topic thought. And, just. I don't even know.

Every year I look at the number or whatever, like, today is seven years. It doesn't feel like 7 years. It feels like less than one.

And, like.. I remember for the next few years, even now sometimes, I remember thinking "this is gonna cause world war three. this is world war three. our kids are gonna learn about this in school."
it kills me.

everytime I hear about another soldier (especially the Canadians, but all of them, really) my heart just breaks.
I want this to end. Honestly. Just.. it's been 7 years. Can't this stop?
I leave you with the lyrics to one of my favorite songs ever. gives me chills. makes me cry sometimes.

Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning) - Alan Jackson

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

The greatest is love
The greatest is love

Hm. I dunno how true it is, but I'll pass on the warning.

My mum says she was listening to the radio and they were saying something about a virus going around myspace/facebook/site's like that that will be sent looking like it's from someone on your flist.

Like I said, I dunno if it's true, but I thought I'd mention it incase no one else has heard.

I may not be opening private messages on FB any time soon, so try commenting my lj, or writing on my wall instead.

Also, why is my flist so slow today? D:

BULLSHIT At It's Finest

Here's my Idol recap.

Bull-FUCKING-Shit!

Paula's little slip up? Yeah. Their comments are pre-written, and she messed up by being her fuct-up, high self. The producers write them before hand, and we know they want Jason gone. It's wrong, and it makes me sick.

He's the biggest threat to their fucking perfect David-squared finale. Look at the online polls, people love Jason. The fans will be voting like wild tonight and he will STILL go home because the producer's do not care about the rules. They don't give two fucking shits about honesty, or integrity.

They will pull a Michael Johns on Jason tomorrow no matter how hard we vote, but we need to vote anyway, just to spit in their fucking faces.

Simon is the only judge that seems to still believe in him, and you know what. Fine. Simon's the only judge who's opinion even matters to me. Randy is a stuck-up prick who has his favorite styles, and if anything is something other than that he hates it. Paula is just cracked and off her rocker.

If Jason is sent home tomorrow I will not watch the rest of the season. I will watch DC's performances on youtube, and I will tune into the finale if Cookie's in it.

This is injustice. That's all there is too it.
Well, injustice and favortism.

This is why I stopped watching Idol. This is why I'm not planning to watch Canadian Idol once it starts. I'm not putting myself through this again.

-x-x-

On another note; his video was so cute! Forgetting the lyrics would be such a Jason move. And then the wide-eye thing and the head smack? TOO adorable.

And David's shirt. That's all I have to say, only not really. But how precious was his shirt?
And I love when he plays accoustic. *licks him*

Right about now Jason is crying into David's shoulder, and David is telling him that American Idol is stupid, and that he doesn't need it because is already too wonderful for words.

I don't think I can form anything else coherent so here you are.

Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold

Ok, so we (Mum, Jess, and I) were driving home from work last Saturday, and this song came on the radio. I LOVE this song, and I had compleatly forgoten about it. But it's just an amazing song.

Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)
Dan Seals

Saw your picture on a poster, in a cafe out in Phoenix
Guess you're still the sweet heart of the rodeo
As for me and little Casey, we still make the circuit
In a one horse trailer and a mobile home
And she still asks about you all the time
And I guess we never even cross your mind

But oh sometimes I think about you
And the way you used to ride out
In your rhinestones and your sequins
With the sunlight on your hair
And oh the crowd will always love you
But as for me I've come to know
Everything that glitters is not gold

Well old Red he's getting older, and last Saturday he stumbled
But you know I just can't bear to let him go
Little Casey she's still growing and she's started asking questions
And there's certain things a man just doesn't know
Her birthday came and you never even called
I guess we never cross your mind at all

But then sometimes I think about you
And the way you used to ride out
In your rhinestones and your sequins
With the sunlight on your hair
And oh the crowd will always love you
But as for me I've come to know
Everything that glitters is not gold

Everybody said you'd make it big someday
And I guess that we were only in your way
But someday I'm sure your gonna know the cost
Cause for everything you win there's something lost

But oh sometimes I think about you
And the way you used to ride out
In your rhinestones and your sequins
With the sunlight on your hair
And oh the crowd will always love you
But as for me I've come to know
Everything that glitters is not gold

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?"
-- Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

Fly Girl - Tara Oram

Blue skies, tall palm trees
Flipping through pages of magazines
Workin’ at the counter at Wallgreens
Dreamin’, waiting
Pinching the pennies on minimum wage
Saving what you can counting down the days
Daddy says don’t go
Momma says it’s the only way she’ll ever know

so come early Sunday morning
She’s gonna say goodbye
Drive past the water tower
80 miles an hour over county lines
Red bull and a blue camaro
Black top to golden sand
What lies ahead down that road
Ain’t no doubt it’s a big ol’ world
But you’re never gonna know
Until you Fly Girl

Cornfields, dairy farms
Home sweet home ain’t goin nowhere
She’s gotta find out if there’s life out there

Brother says good luck
Grandma says I sure am gonna miss ya hon but

Come early Sunday morning
She’s gonna say goodbye
Drive past the water tower
80 miles an hour over county lines
Red bull and a blue camaro
Black top to golden sand
What lies ahead down that road
Ain’t no doubt it’s a big ol’ world
You can stay on the ground or Fly Girl

She knows things might not go her way
But she will not take the coulda shoulda
Woulda’s to the grave

Come early Sunday morning
She’s gonna say goodbye
Drive past the water tower
80 miles an hour over county lines
Red bull and a blue camaro
Black top to golden sand
What lies ahead down that road
Ain’t no doubt it’s a big ol’ world
But you’re never gonna know
Until you Fly Girl

Ain’t no doubt it’s a big ol’ world
